The Generalist's High
I once started writing a book. It was called “A Theory of Work”.
In the first chapter, I argued that work is fundamentally about people: organization, collaboration, sustenance, community, ambition. In this world of LLMs, it’s interesting to revisit that idea.
This world of LLMs
gen·er·al·ist’s high n. the ability to get a broad range of tasks done when paired with an LLM.
In a typical day, whether it’s building an internal application ✈️, generating a design system ⛴️, or building a web page 🕸️ for a product launch, I’m usually floating across product, design, engineering and whatever with the triplets (Codex, Claude and Cursor).
It does seem that I spend more time in my own head.
